For Milan Design Week 2025, MUJI invites you to discover MUJI MUJI 5∙5, an unprecedented installation within a secret garden in the Brera district.
The fortunate encounter between the MUJI brand and the designers of Studio 5∙5 gave birth to a Manifesto House, a micro-architecture that showcases an essential way of living, and a unique collection of ready-made objects. A cleverly repurposed series using only MUJI iconic objects, to be discovered in the house and on display in an exclusive exhibition.
The 5.5 designers also created for Milan Design Week 2025 a unique display presenting a dialogue between their iconic pieces, which reflect their long-lasting commitment to upcycling and reuse, and a selection of MUJI products organised around the values of responsible design: usefulness, low-impact, virtue, durability and timelessness.
Since it was founded in 1980, MUJI has continuously opposed overconsumption and promoted a mindful way of living. This collaboration demonstrates the brand’s commitment to a more sustainable world and a positive CSR approach that continues to reassess our human needs and consumption modes.

A Manifesto House
The designers Claire Renard and Jean-Sébastien Blanc, co-founders of Studio 5•5 and recognized as pioneers of upcycling in France, have created a Manifesto House for MUJI inspired by Japanese architecture. This evolutive, creative, frugal solution contemplates the importance of serenity in the commotion of the city.
Designed from a catalog of prefabricated modules, the house is modular but also evolutive over time for greater durability. Each element of the modular structure demonstrates a synergy of comfort, ingenuity, and environmental responsibility to answer to the fundamental needs of our daily life.
More than drawing a beautiful house, 5•5 propose to design “slices of life” that can be assembled to create your own home.

An Energy-Efficient Design
The house integrates the main principles of responsible housing, thanks to its manufacturing of biosourced materials or from reuse such as its recycled textile insulation. The roof is white to combat the heat and its surface allows to collect rainwater to water your own food crops.
